Nancy's friend Stewart drew this great caricature of her, which makes her laugh every time she looks at it.

Nancy received a special honor at the 2008 RWA
conference. She describes it:
"Here I am getting my 25 book pin from Harlequin
at the RWA conference, July 2008. That's me on the far right.
I was delighted to get this award in the company of my good
friend Kathy Shay (she's standing beside me), Jill Shalvis (middle
front) got her 50 book pin, wowza. Behind her are my dear friends
Holly Jacobs and Chris Green, and the gal in the black shawl
is another good friend, Cindi Myers. I am proud to be in the
company of such amazing women. My first novel, Flashback,
was a July 2001 Temptation. It's been a great ride!"

A dedicated Janeite since age 14, Nancy is a member
of JASNA, the
Jane Austen Society of North America. She had a ball at
the JASNA conference in Vancouver in 2007. The gorgeous dress
Nancy is wearing belongs to author and vintage clothing fashionista Shelley
Bates.
Wendy Roberts (author of Dating Can Be Deadly),
Debbie Macomber (romance and women's fiction author who regularly
makes all the bestseller lists), and Nancy, at an all-day workshop
by Debbie for the Romance Writers of America.
Nancy counts herself lucky to have met one of
Hollywood's hottest hunks. Here she describes her close encounter
of the cutie kind:
"I got the chance to meet TV hunk Chris Noth who plays
Mr. Big at a Sex and the City windup party. Of course,
I downed a Cosmopolitan or two and said farewell to Carrie,
Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte. Sigh. I'm going to miss my
weekly TV fix.
Here's my insider tip on Chris Noth—he's a big Beatles
fan and his last name is pronounced to rhyme with 'both'. There
you go.
Don't say you never learn anything worthwhile on my website..."

Nancy's friend Tiana, always a good sport, shows
off her copy of Bad Boys Down Under.
One of Nancy's early mentors was Regency author
Elizabeth Fairchild. Nancy describes her encounter with her mentor:
"What a charming and gracious woman she is.
I was so happy to meet her in person at the RT Convention."
