USA Today bestselling author
of contemporary women's fiction
May 2008
Wow. I can't believe it's May already. This year is just flying
by. The One I Want, my latest hot and humorous romance
from Kensington, Brava, is now out. Chloe was one of my favorite
heroines to write about, maybe because she was so good about figuring
out other people's relationships and so utterly clueless about
her own. I'm happy to say the book is getting great reviews. Here
are a couple.
Romance
Junkies gave the book their coveted five ribbons and the delightful
Robin Snodgrass gives a synopsis of the book that's better than
I could have done. If you want a taste of the book, do read the
entire review. Robin ended by saying:
Warren always provides readers with a great story and this
one is no exception. Trust me when I say, THE ONE I WANT is
one that you will want to read again and again.
This is a hilarious tale of two people falling in love, who
could not be more opposite. They are instantly attracted to
one another; it just doesn't seem to be the right time. Ms.
Warren is great with witty dialogue and thorough characterization.
I am more than happy to read her books - ANYTIME!!
French Kissing, my April Blaze, is still available through
online retailers. My favorite review was by Terrie Fiquera of
Romance
Reviews Today, who gave the book a Perfect Ten rating:
Romance with a solid mystery and a cast of intriguing characters
make FRENCH KISSING a pleasure to read, and proves that a novel
can be romantic and sexy without giving up solid plotting or
character development. It also has a few humorous moments. A
charmer to be sure, and an RRT Perfect 10.
In other news, I successfully completed the Vancouver Sun Run,
a 10K run in support of literacy. Me and 59,000 of my closest
friends. In a strange twist of events, the day of the run, April
20, was also some kind of marijuana protest day and the starting
place of the run and the marijuana smoke-in were side by side.
Let's just say it was a very mellow run and I was overcome by
an urge to snack!
My writer buddy and die-hard running friend, Loreth Ann White
is now trying to talk me into a half marathon. I'm thinking about
it...
You may wonder what on earth this has to do with writing novels,
but in fact, I think I'll write an article one of these days about
how running helps me plot a book. Walking, hiking and swimming
all work too. I think it's the hypnotic motion of the body moving
at a steady pace that frees the creativity, which is very cool.
